It all started in 1955 with a part-time TV service from the family home. Gibson TV then grew to a full time service repair business and then shortly afterwards, a purchase of property on King St East in Kitchener to accommodate both Service & Sales. Ed and Steven ran an expert repair service and Betty Ann enjoyed the sales.
In 1986, the business was moved from Betzner and King in Kitchener, to a new location at 25 Columbia St. East in Waterloo between King & Weber St. We held onto the business in Kitchener at its old location for a couple of years until we combined everything in one building in Waterloo.
With the help of additional family members and dedicated staff, Gibson Sound & Vision opened a remote location in Guelph for 5 years until we were able to enlarge our Waterloo facility.
After a brief illness, Betty Ann Gibson, one of the founders of the company, passed away on April 17/05.
Our “Gibson Family” business began with a philosophy of integrity, fair prices, and the best possible service we can offer. Our qualified and experienced sales consultants can help with any size project.
