Outdoor Living: Entertain in Style with Bose Outdoor Speakers

Now that the warmer weather has decided to make an appearance, it’s now time to take  look at your outdoor living! We all make room for our grills and patios sets, but don’t forget about your outdoor entertainment. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you didn’t have to lug out that iPod dock every time you wanted to listen to some music? Outdoor speakers are a perfect way to make it easy to entertain outdoors. They’re weather-proof and come in all different shapes and sizes, best of all, they are backed by a manufacturer’s warranty so you don’t have to worry. Although there are plenty of options out there, our team loves the Bose Outdoor Speaker lineup.

Why does Bose excel at outdoor speakers?

Bose Freespace 51 Speakers

Bose has three outdoor speaker models, the 151SE, 251 and the Top-of-the-Line Freespace 51. The Bose 151 SE and 251 models include the mounting brackets for quick and easy mounting. The Freespace 51 is a in or on ground mode which gives you some flexibility in your outdoor space. The Freespace 51 will give a full 360 degree sound dispersion for the widest outdoor coverage

Most problems with filling any large area with sound, indoors or outdoors, is the localization of the left and right channels. Depending on your seating position , your sound will be biased to whichever speaker you are seated closer too. Bose Outdoor Speakers are specifically designed to disperse sound to a wide listening area such as your backyard or patio in order to fix this issue. You’ll end up getting the best Bose sound no matter how big or small your outdoor living area is.  Their outdoor speakers can produce an accurate wide frequency range including deep impactful bass.

When it comes to outdoor speakers, you’re probably worried that it won’t be able to withstand the Canadian weather. Through extensive testing, they are able to handle extreme weather conditions such as direct sunlight, rain, ice and salt, etc. In the long run, your Bose Outdoor Speakers will perform for your enjoyment  throughout the years to come. Bose also includes a manufacture 5 year warranty with their outdoor speaker product.

Feel free to check out our full line of outdoor speakers on our website. Drop by the store and I’d be happy to talk more about the different options we provide in outdoor speakers.   You can also email me at gary@shopgibson.com.

57 Years and Counting

Gibson TV's King St Location in Kitchener

First of all, the Gibson Family & Staff would like to thank everyone for joining us for our Anniversary celebration last week. Whether you visited us in-store or not, all of your well wishes, tweets, phone calls, and emails meant a lot to the Gibson Sound & Vision team. 57 years seems like a long time, but we’re looking forward to many, many, more years in this amazing community.

Ed and Betty Ann Gibson started Gibson TV because they were passionate about providing stellar service to the community. With a service department started in the basement of their family home, Ed and Betty Ann made sure they were able to help each and every customer. Their small service department has evolved a great deal since 1955, with the help of additional family members, staff, and of course the support of the community, Gibson Sound & Vision is proud to be the company that it is today.

Steve, Ed & Stu Gibson

Being able to work closely with the Gibson family, it’s hard not to be passionate about what the company stands for. At 81 years old, Ed Gibson shows just how much he loves this company and community by being in the store almost every day. I’ve seen first hand the great lengths the Gibson Family will do to make sure the company is happy. At any given day, there’s always someone available when a customer asks to speak to “a Gibson”. It’s also undeniable how much the Gibson Family loves the community, I always am so proud when someone tells me a story about how the Gibson Family has touched them in their philanthropic initiatives.

With that being said, The Gibson Family & Staff would like to take a moment here and thank all of our faithful customers who have frequented our store through the years and whom we hope to continue to do business with. We strive to be the company that you tell your family about & we look forward to “Treat You Like Family”.

Have you had an experience at Gibson Sound & Vision? We’d love to hear you thoughts –  follow us on Twitter @GibsonSV and join the conversation on Facebook at facebook.com/GibsonSV

Introducing KEF Reference & Marantz Reference!

At Gibson Sound & Vision, we’ve always been proud to provide our customers innovative and high quality electronics since the store opened in 1955. As part of our 57th Anniversary celebration this year, we thought we would launch something unique to our store. After exploring multiple options, the KEF Reference Series speakers caught our attention – the gorgeous design and innovative technology couldn’t be refused.  The original KEF Reference loudspeaker was designed to be as near to perfect as possible – each speaker that they produce is compared to “The Reference” to which each speaker made must match exactly at every level in great detail.

To complement the prestigious KEF Reference Series speakers, our team is happy to introduce products from the Marantz Reference lineup for the first time in our store. As explained by Jim Ludoviconi, Brand and Project Manager for Marantz: “The Marantz Reference Series is renowned for its sheer musicality, with a soundscape that reveals all the details and subtle nuances of music, from the lowest bass to the highest frequencies, all with keen attention to dynamics and true-to-life music reproduction. “.We’re ecstatic to be bringing the KEF Reference & Marantz Reference together at Gibson Sound & Vision.

We welcome you to join us for the Official Launch Party which is being held tomorrow at Gibson Sound & Vision. If you can’t join us, please feel free to drop by anytime for a demonstration to experience KEF Reference & Marantz Reference.

Free MasonicCh.I.P. Child Identification Program

The MasoniCh.I.P. program uses modern, police-approved techniques to create a child identification kit for the ones you love. The information is matched to work seamlessly with Ontario’s law enforcement providers. By being so compatible, the critical identifying information can be broadcast and shared more quickly than ever before to assist with the safe recovery of missing children.

The kit collects photos, video, voice recordings, digital fingerprints, dental impressions, saliva swabs as well as traditional statistical information (height, weight, hair and eye colour, etc.).

The MasoniCh.I.P. program is brought exclusively to families by dedicated Masons and their volunteers, free of charge along with our sentiment that “We hope you never need to use it.”

On Sunday April 15th the Gibson’s and the Waterloo District Masons will be holding a free Child Identification Program for area families.  This event will take place at Gibson Sound and Vision, 25 Columbia St East, in Waterloo, from 12pm and 4pm that day.  All costs for this program are being donated by the Gibson family, and the Waterloo District Masonic Lodges, so it’s free for families to bring any number of children!
Each of the child ID kits require about 15-20 minutes to prepare, and will be administered on a ‘first come, first serve basis.  We will only be able to provide up to 100 kits that day so please arrive early to ensure your spot. Children of any age are welcome. What’s in a MasoniCh.I.P. Kit?

When a child has a kit prepared, their parent or guardian will receive a printed colour data sheet with several ID card inserts, a CD-ROM storing all the digital information, and a sealed bag with the dental plate and cheek swab.

All this material and information is given to the parent or guardian. No information is ever stored by the MasoniChIP program. A full FAQ can be found on the MasonicCh.I.P website.

Keeping it Green with Gibson’s

Last fall, we launched our Go Green with Gibson’s campaign to help raise awareness for electronic waste while raising money for Habitat for Humanity. Through providing our community with a free place to recycle e-waste, we collected over 3 tons of e-waste in two weeks! With all of the e-waste materials collected, were able to raise almost $700 which was donated to Habitat for Humanity.

Way to go Waterloo Region!

Still have some e-waste laying around and not sure what to do with it? Bring it over to us and we’ll make sure to recycle it for you, free of charge. We had such a great success from our last event that we now have a permanent e-waste bin on-site.

We’ll accept anything from computers to TVs to old cell phones. You can get a full list of acceptable e-waste on the Recycle Your Electronics website.
