Free MasonicCh.I.P. Child Identification Program

The MasoniCh.I.P. program uses modern, police-approved techniques to create a child identification kit for the ones you love. The information is matched to work seamlessly with Ontario’s law enforcement providers. By being so compatible, the critical identifying information can be broadcast and shared more quickly than ever before to assist with the safe recovery of missing children.

The kit collects photos, video, voice recordings, digital fingerprints, dental impressions, saliva swabs as well as traditional statistical information (height, weight, hair and eye colour, etc.).

The MasoniCh.I.P. program is brought exclusively to families by dedicated Masons and their volunteers, free of charge along with our sentiment that “We hope you never need to use it.”

On Sunday April 15th the Gibson’s and the Waterloo District Masons will be holding a free Child Identification Program for area families.  This event will take place at Gibson Sound and Vision, 25 Columbia St East, in Waterloo, from 12pm and 4pm that day.  All costs for this program are being donated by the Gibson family, and the Waterloo District Masonic Lodges, so it’s free for families to bring any number of children!
Each of the child ID kits require about 15-20 minutes to prepare, and will be administered on a ‘first come, first serve basis.  We will only be able to provide up to 100 kits that day so please arrive early to ensure your spot. Children of any age are welcome. What’s in a MasoniCh.I.P. Kit?

When a child has a kit prepared, their parent or guardian will receive a printed colour data sheet with several ID card inserts, a CD-ROM storing all the digital information, and a sealed bag with the dental plate and cheek swab.

All this material and information is given to the parent or guardian. No information is ever stored by the MasoniChIP program. A full FAQ can be found on the MasonicCh.I.P website.
